AMD’s New APU Processors Based on Zen 5 Revealed!

AMD is aiming for a fresh start in the mobile processor world with the Zen 5 architecture. The specifications of new APU processors with Zen 5 core architecture have emerged in the company’s recent shipment reports. It’s mentioned that several prototype models, codenamed Strix Point and Fire Range, have been shared with various manufacturers. So, we can say that AMD’s New APU Processors are coming!

The high-performance Strix Point appears to be AMD’s flagship mobile processor. Shipment notes refer to two Ryzen 9 models with a 28W Strix Point design. Additionally, a Ryzen 7 processor bearing the name “OPN 100-0000001335” is listed.

AMD’s New APU Processors

It’s stated that Strix Point chips will feature RDNA 3+ based GPUs. Moreover, the reports highlight the presence of 40 TOPS+ NPU units with XDNA 2 architecture. This indicates that AMD’s top mobile processors will prioritize both GPU and NPU.

No more AMD, Microsoft, and Intel in Chinese computers!

Today, China has taken a significant irreversible step. Now, American-made products like Microsoft and Intel will no longer in China.

The Fire Range processors, with 8 and 16 cores, are reported to operate at 55W TDP. It’s expected that this model will be based on Granite Ridge, developed for desktop computers. The Fire Range series is also likely to incorporate RDNA 3+ based GPU.

One of the most notable additions to the Zen 5 architecture is the enhanced support for Advanced Vector Extensions, including new AVX and AVX-512 instructions. This feature will enable processors to perform more demanding functions when used with specific software.
